Transforming a Home Near the Wright Brothers’ Original Site
At American Way Exteriors, every project we take on is important, but some come with a little extra meaning. Recently, we had the opportunity to upgrade a home just four houses down from where the Wright Brothers' original home once stood. Given the history of this location, we wanted to create something that looked great, lasted for years, and honored the character of the neighborhood.
A Bold and Timeless Look
For this project, we installed James Hardie Lap Siding in Evening Blue, paired with Hardie Shake in Country Red, and finished it off with Hardie Trim in Khaki Brown. This combination gave the home a rich, welcoming look that stands out while still fitting into its surroundings. The deep blue siding adds sophistication, the red shake brings in warmth and texture, and the khaki trim ties everything together perfectly.
Why James Hardie?
James Hardie siding isn’t just about looks—it’s built to last. It stands up to harsh weather, resists moisture and fire, and maintains its color and strength over time. With this installation, the homeowners now have a durable, low-maintenance exterior that will stay beautiful for years to come.
Blending History with Modern Upgrades
Working in an area with such a strong historical connection was a privilege. The Wright Brothers changed the world with their innovation, and while we’re not building airplanes, we love being able to improve homes in a way that respects the past while adding modern durability and style.
